Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
We intend to revolutionize urban agriculture by leveraging technology to create efficient, sustainable, and locally integrated food systems within towns and cities. This visionary project would revolve around a community center whose focus is sustainable economic development. Imagine a facility raising high-nutrition, additive-free, clean, organic seafood and produce, where community members, students, and job seekers can acquire hands-on experience focused on business training and mentorship for the new expanding “Green” economy. This facility will function as a resource to prepare and transition community members into this new economy. Also, working in conjunction with local colleges and K-12 programs we envision a unique model for preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the coming decades.
OUR VISION
As the United States recovers from the global pandemic, we see a necessary goal of that recovery as being a locally focused system to create a strong and resilient economic base to help support the long-term resilience of the area. Investment funds should be wisely spent on ensuring an expanding tax and job creation based at a time when fewer and fewer funds may be available from state and federal sources to support the needs of the community. This project proposal will provide critical food resources and economic stimulus for our nation-wide sustainability efforts far into the future.

Digital Urban Farms, a M/WBE Corporation, would like to propose an economic development/food security project that will have many benefits for our community. This innovative construct would combine a state-of-the-art Aquaponics facility with an ongoing education/job training component that would produce a steady stream of new, well- paying jobs. Such a public/private partnership would create a variety of robust, expanding, revenue-producing models within the community that will act as a nexus for attracting further private investment.
